Maths300
An inspiring resource for learning numeracy
Maths300 is a collection of lessons designed to promote open-ended inquiry through investigative, problem-based approaches
Numeracy Focus: All
This site is supported by the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT), but requires a subscription (available by school or individually) to use the extensive range of activities in its Lesson Library. Sample lessons are available to trial at no cost.
Maths300 lessons promote open-ended inquiry through investigative, problem-based approaches in fun game-based or real world contexts which give meaning and purpose to learning.
They are designed to encourage genuine understanding, thinking, reasoning and communication and make explicit mathematical interconnections, incorporating technology. They support differentiation and equity in non-threatening learning environments which facilitate a level of success for all students.
Numeracy is clearly evidenced in all its activities, often with cross-curricular links.
Lessons can be searched by Lesson Number, Lesson Name, Strand (e.g. Number, algebra, measurement, pattern), and year level. All lessons include notes, a range of investigation guides, worksheets, extension problems, software, helpful hints and reflective comments.
