ReSolve: Maths By Inquiry

An inspiring resource for learning numeracy

Explore these teaching and learning resources to enhance existing approaches to teaching mathematics

Numeracy Focus: All

The reSolve: Maths by Inquiry project is overseen by the Australian Academy of Science in collaboration with the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers.

It amplifies existing approaches to teaching mathematics through structured and purposeful investigations of mathematical and realistic numeracy contexts.

Resources are underpinned by the reSolve Protocol that mathematics is purposeful; tasks are challenging yet accessible across a range of levels of understanding, and built around a classroom knowledge culture. While developed as mathematical resources, numeracy is explicit in all its activities.

The site includes a set of Professional Learning Modules designed for teachers to provide the link between the Protocol and the teaching and learning resources.

The site’s real strength though lies in the richness of its resources, and the high level of support provided for teachers to use them (curriculum links; learning objectives, teacher notes, classroom organisation).

Resources are organised and searchable by three Content Strands: Number and Algebra; Statistics and Probability; Measurement and Geometry; as well as by  levels (F-10).

Stage: Birth to Level 10
